People in distress often first learn about Al-Anon through a professional. Social workers, therapists, counselors, nurses, doctors, religious leaders, and librarians can all be trusted professionals.
Consider offering literature to a professional with whom you have a personal relationship. You may also consider delivering Al-Anon information to a Community Behavioral Health Center. Perhaps call before you arrive, or walk in with a packet of printed materials for a staff member to deliver to professionals on site. Share this flyer with your group to explain the process and get things going.
To share these materials electronically, please go to “Outreach to Professionals Using Email“.
Printed Packets
Suggested print materials to deliver to professionals:
Tips for putting packets together:
- Include one Letter to Professionals per packet. (Make printouts from the link.)
- Include a few “Information for Professionals” brochures per packet (available for purchase from the Massachusetts office).
- Include a few “Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism” magazines (available for purchase from the WSO)
- Print 2″x4″ Avery stickers with Al-Anon of Massachusetts meeting information and attach to the back of the magazines. Be careful not to cover the WSO text.
This can be a great group project for districts and groups! Have fun putting Step 12 into action!
